Too Busy

I haven't posted because I have been very busy getting my new home ready. I'm tired physically and emotionally and I have to go back to work tomorrow.

Sigh!

Unexpected News

Wednesday night my brother changed my life. The conversation went something like this...

Him: "I hope you are ready to be an uncle"
Me: "Better not be you"
Him: "Well, it's going to happen in January. Due date is January 3rd and we're having a boy"
Me: "Are you going to get married?"
Him: "No"
Me: "You are going to tell Mom & Dad"
Him: "Yes"
Me: "Good because you don't want me to tell them"

So the short of it is I'm going to be an uncle. My brother and the mother of the child (whom he is not dating, does not plan to date nor plan to marry) expect a boy in early January. Thankfully my parents didn't let my brother off too easy but the fact is, his life has gone down the drain and he's taking all of us along for the ride. I certainly hope he has learned a big, big lesson from all of this.

Decision 2006

Yes, I voted Democrat and I'm happy I did. I know there are plenty of you out there who will disagree with me but let's leave that debate for somewhere else. The thing I want to express here that I know the party wont do is Impeachment. We all know that President Clinton was impeached because of immorality and that was by a republican controlled congress. Now, what would you expect to happen to a president who has shown dictator like tendencies (such as creating the law by himself or deeming what he does as fine because it is in the best interests of national security)? I would expect him to be impeached and removed from office. However, the democratic party doesn't believe that should be the case. I can understand why (they need to build a positive platform before doing something like that) but its too bad.

'Nuff said about that for now.

Phantom of the Opera

Last night, Carla and I went to see Phantom of the Opera at Popejoy.

It was a great show. We both enjoyed it a lot.

I do have a word of advice for anyone going to Popejoy.

If you are going to sit in the orchestra section, try to sit at least seven rows back. This gives you the chance to see the actors faces, the full stage and the ceiling (which is important when watching Phantom).
