Game time

A fun game awaits you here. The object is to keep the guy on his feet for as long as you can using the mouse.

I've done 55m.

Have fun but don't skip work for it!

Thanks Jason for the inspiration.

Tuesday Update

We finally won all seven points bowling last night! Of course, it helps when you bowl the vacant team (you can't lose to the vacant team).

I didn't sleep well last night so I've been yawning all day.  Well, that's what lunch time is for.

In other good news, the DNC started last night.  It's good to hear a campaign being run without a lot of negativity.  The only bad thing about John Kerry is he's from Massachusetts.  Will that stop me from voting for him?  No.  My mom's dog could run against President Bush and I would still vote for the dog.  Mind you, it's not the man that I don't like, it's his presidency that I don't like.  Debate all you want about that one but I wont change my mind.

BTW, the new church website is up and running.  http://www.gaccnews.com
It's a little bit crude right now, but it will get better by the end of the year.

Happy Birthday Nick

Happy 26th birthday Nick.  I hope you have a good, safe and sober day!

Weekend Update

If you are looking for Dennis Miller, you've come to the wrong place.  He will not be making a special appearance at DDJT.

I finally got my "new" computer working.  It took me long enough.  So long that I'm almost (note: almost) ashamed to admit that I'm a computer geek/guru.  Of course, it was something simple but I'm now the happy owner of a 1 GHz Celeron processor machine.

Yippie.

Thanks to my brother for giving it to me.

Monsoon Season

There are certain constants in the universe.

The Yankees will beat the Red Sox.

The Rangers will dominate the Islanders.

The Clippers will always be the worst franchise in sports.

Monsoon season will always happen around my brother's birthday (BTW, happy birthday to him tomorrow).

It has rained.  Hard.  A lot.  Mucho.  I'm grateful.  I can't wait to see the day when the Rio Grande has a lot of water in it again.

West Side Commute

For those of us who live on the West Side, this is good news.  Having gone from a big fan of Mayor Martin Chavez, to really being indifferent towards him during his second term, I'm glad that he at least has the guts to make tough decisions.  This one he gets major kudos for.  Thank you Mr. Mayor for helping to aleviate the traffic on the West Side by re-striping the Montano bridge!

Health Update

I do not have an ear infection.  This is good news considering I've had a perpetual ear infection since the day I was born.

Instead, I was told that my allergies are kicking up, which prompted the doctor to prescribe Flonase, a spray allergy inhibitor.  Best news of it all - it's free!

Now if only the Alegra was free...

How Many Big Mac's Have You Eaten?

http://www.thenewmexicochannel.com/food/3551106/detail.html

This is pretty disgusting.  To quote my roommate, you can hear his arteries clogging.

I'm Home

Well, I don't have the travel hangover that I had last month.  I guess that comes from just taking a weekend trip as opposed to a full week.  It seems no matter how many times you go to Las Vegas, there is still more to see and experience.  My thanks to Rob West for housing me this weekend.  I look forward to more great times with him in the future.  I'll see if life allows me to visit one weekend a year.

The concert was good but the company was better.  I personally hope that Bethany really had a great time with the girls.  Hopefully, this will lead to a softening of her heart and a faithful disciple but only time will tell.

I'm glad to be home.  It's always good to sleep in your own bed.  Just one more trip to go this year...

Albuquerque Sunport

Surprise! Surprise!

Albuquerque is approaching the 21st Century.  I'm sitting here waiting for my check-in time and surfing wirelessly.  I can't believe it.  I know I should be grateful but the signal strength sucks.

Just checking in before I depart!

See you Monday, unless I get by a Starbucks!

I'm Outie

Once again I will be flying the friendly skies, this time en route to Las Vegas.  Yup, Sin City.

I'm going to visit Robert West, hang out with him and visit a couple of places I haven't seen since the last time I was there.

I'm also going to see Sarah McLaughlin in concert.

Maybe I'll come back wealthy, then again, maybe I'll be as poor as I was before.

I don't think I'll post anything all weekend, although I'm bringing my computer with me.

See you Monday!

Special Day for a friend

Today is a special day.

No, it is not my birthday (but in three short months from tomorrow it will be.  Don't wait until the last minute to get me my gift.  Buy early and often).

No, it is not one of my brother's birthday's (but next week is).

No, the Yankees did not trade for Randy Johnson.

No, Kobe Bryant isn't in jail (yet).

Yes, it is Martha Stewart's sentencing day, but that's not why today is special.

This person turns 23 today.

Who is it?

Do you want to know?

How about a hint?

You will see this person on campus during the week.

You will see this person on stage singing on Sunday mornings.

This person has blonde hair and blue eyes.

This person is absolutely wonderful!

So happy birthday Natalie!

I certainly hope that you enjoy your special day.  Try not to get too overwhelmed with lounging around today, ok?

Julia Roberts Update

O.K. the secret is out, I'm a huge Julia Roberts fan. Having said that, you need to check out this!

Blah, blah, blah

I think I have an ear infection. Every now and then I feel like I'm spinning. This is a bad thing, especially when I know I'm going out of town this weekend. It even worse when you can't afford to see the doctor until next week.

Computer rumors

Check out this report on some computer rumors that you have have heard about in the past. It explains which are true and which aren't.

Go Big Blue

The 2004 Michigan Wolverines football schedule is out. The road to the Big Ten title and possible national title runs through Ann Arbor this fall (sorry Heather). The way I see it the only game Michigan might lose is at Notre Dame (but I doubt it. The luck of the Irish has run out).

National Championship Game here we come!

Weekend Preview

Darn, I wish I had something good to write about but since I'll probably be home all weekend, doing laundry, fixing computers and probably watching a movie (no, I'm not going to say which one(s)) and sleeping in, I thought I'd let you have a glimpse of my world. Maybe I'll catch a baseball game, then again maybe I wont. If only I, robot started this weekend instead of next weekend.

Spending money frivolously

Well, it's official. I have renewed my UNM Women's Basketball tickets. There are some benefits to being a university employee, such as half price tickets. It also helps to rub elbows, knees, shoulders, etc. with some of the current and former players at the gym twice a week.

Here's to the quest for the fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament!

Back to work

I can get used to these three day weekends. I think it should be illegal to work five days in a row.
Well, all of my family from NY has made it back safely. It was good to see them and I'm looking forward to visiting them in September.
It was great to spend time with the Perez & Morris families on Sunday. Thanks to Kateri & Oliver for cooking for Michelle and I and thanks to Frank & Catherine for hosting the fireworks viewing party on their roof. It's just too bad that I bowled so poorly yesterday...

Movie Review

Today's movie review is Spider-Man 2. Get up right now and go see it. It's that good (but don't pay over $7 for it. No movie theatre should get away with what is statuatory rape in most states by charging $9 to see it). As a guy who has so much in common with Peter Parker (except the superpowers) it was nice to be reminded that he does indeed end up with the girl (Kirsten Dunst is a nice grand prize too!). It gives someone like me hope, that if I wait long enough and believe that even I too will end up with the girl because somewhere, there is someone who sees the hero inside of me.
