More On Ohio State

It seems Mr. Geiger is trying to cover his butt now that Maurice Clarett has spoken. If you didn't believe me before, you might want to start believing now, before OSU is forced to forfeit their national championship.

The people in Miami are starting to sing We Are the Champions.

Merry Christmas

Since I will probably post about the neat stuff that I get (and yes, I'm still waiting for your gifts) I want to take the time now to wish everyone a safe, and Merry Christmas, Christians and non-Christians alike.

Merry Christmas!

Time Off

I love working for the University. We are officially on vacation (yes, paid vacation) until the 4th. Nice. I can get plenty o' sleep, have great quiet times and lots o' time to pray.

In case you are wondering, I've made a slight modification to the page. The title you see on each post is usually a hyperlink to what I'm referencing, unless I'm just making a general post, like this one.

Don't forget my gifts!

Lobos v. Aggies

Los Lobos layeth the smacketh down on the Aggies last night in a game that should be an exhibition game between the two schools.

Memo to Aggie fan. Your school has lost all 5 (1 football, 2 each men's and women's basketball) games to the Lobos this year by double figures. Why don't you try your luck as a division II school? Maybe you can keep the losing deficit to single digits next year.

Kudos to Arizona State. Just a few days after having their national ranking deflated like a balloon by the Lobos, they turn around and beat the defending champs. Memo to the voters, we beat a darn good team and not by a little bit. We beat them soundly. We deserve to be ranked higher than #25 next week and we deserve to stay ranked the rest of the season. 'Nuff said.

I Want My Gifts!

Today is December 20th. You have three days to get my Christmas gifts to me (which reminds me, I have money from my uncle I need to take to the bank).

I don't want a lump of coal (I've been a good boy this year).

I wouldn't mind a love life.

A trip to an exotic location is fine (as long as it's not hurricane season).

Losing three years in age is perfect.

See, I'm not asking for much. Now, open up your wallet and spend some money on me!

Christmas Gifts

Hello my loyal readers (all three of you)!

I once again have a dilemma I need your help with. I am lacking a gift for my grandfather, the man who has everything.

I can't buy him clothes because he has three closets full of clothes that he never wears.

I can't buy him tools because he has every tool imaginable.

I can't give him money because he is addicted to gambling and it will cause a fight between him and my grandmother.

I could give him food but how is that memorable?

I can't give him something for the house because he has no place to put it.

Thus my dilemma.

Any ideas?

Twelve Silly Days of Christmas

Thank the wonderful people at Chicken Soup for the Soul for this one.

By Kristina Richardson

On the first day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
A toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the second day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the third day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Three hairbrushes
(I guess my hair was messy)
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the fourth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Four Canadian coins
(Which, as it turns out, are pretty useless 'cause
I don't live in Canada)
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the fifth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Five Barbie rings
(They're really tiny, and I'm way too old for Barbie)
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the sixth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the seventh day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Seven "days of the week" undies
(I hope no one from school ever sees these)
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the eighth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Eight electronic games
(Enough to drive her crazy)
Seven "days of the week" undies
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the ninth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Nine candy kisses
(I really like this gift, I think I'll give
her one of my Barbie rings)
Eight electronic games
Seven "days of the week" undies
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the tenth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Ten blue flyswatters
(My mom's losing it; what happened to the candy kisses?)
Nine candy kisses
Eight electronic games
Seven "days of the week" undies
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the eleventh day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Eleven novelty ice-cube trays
(Now I know she's really lost it)
Ten blue flyswatters
Nine candy kisses
Eight electronic games
Seven "days of the week" undies
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

On the twelfth day of Christmas
My mother gave to me
Twelve Snoopy Band-Aids
(I scratched myself trying to get
the ice out of the novelty ice trays—
how did she know I would need these?)
Eleven novelty ice trays
Ten blue flyswatters
Nine candy kisses
Eight electronic games
Seven "days of the week" undies
Six comic books
Five Barbie rings
Four Canadian coins
Three hairbrushes
Two pairs of new socks
And a toothbrush I didn't really need.

FCC Changes & Rants and Raves

Do you ever get tired of hearing people jabbering on their cell phone in line at Starbucks or at the store? Get ready, because this will soon be reality on your flights.

I can just see it now, you settle down for a four hour flight to the east coast, the on-board movie starts and the guy next to you decides now is a good time to get into a fight with his wife on his cell phone, thus ruining your chance to watch the movie in peace and making a long flight even longer.

And Verizon, why can't you just provide the internet service for free? Why do you have to suck every last penny from us? Can't you work out a deal with the airlines where they charge and extra dollar for the seat, which they will give you, as the fee? Can you not provide wireless internet connectivity for $120 per flight?

All in all, I'm really starting to hate travel. I don't like driving everywhere and I'm not too fond of flying everywhere.

Holiday Party

There is nothing like free food, regardless of the reason for it.

Take today for example. KNME is having it's annual holiday party. It is being catered by RIBS barbecue, which, if you are in Albuquerque you should try, because it's pretty good.

So, I'm about ready to head down and start grubbin'. Good thing I'm hungry!

Violation of privacy?

Let this be a lesson to you, not only when you go to a casino, but to any place that has security cameras. There is never a good reason to wear "revealing" or inappropriate clothes, in public.

Senior Class Songs

A list of some of the favorite class songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's and just as I figured, I still don't like a lot of them.

Enjoy the list. It will probably make you feel as old as I feel.

World's Largest Bridge

Pretty darn neat if you ask me.

I hate to say it (o.k. - I love to say it), but I told you so! Even the basketball team is cheating.

Weather Rant

I can't stand the snow.

I don't like cold weather either.

So wouldn't you know it, it's stinkin' cold and snowy today and my knee is bothering me.

Snow belongs in the mountains. Cold weather belongs in the arctic. I live in the middle of a desert! Where is the 90 degree heat when you want it?

Nature. Can't live with it, can't live without it.

End of an era

In 1992 I bought my first computer. It was an IBM PS/2 Consultant. A whopping 486SX/20 with 4 MB RAM (my how things have changed). I wanted the IBM for two reasons: 1) the name and 2) the computer shipped with Prodigy, one of the first ISP's around.

Well, IBM is expected to announce they are stopping their PC product line. It's kind of a shame. In one sense I hurt because it was a piece of history. On the other hand, IBM had stopped being competitive in the PC market years ago. The term "IBM compatible" will not hold the same meaning to our children as it does to us.

What is next, Windows on a Mac?
