MCDST Certification

As of right now I am a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). I should be an MCDST but one of the exams kept crashing, so I have to reschedule the exam but I feel good about it because the other test was the one that gave me fits during the practice exams and I just about aced it. However, I'm not good at taking tests so I still worry about the one exam I still have to take. The other thing that has me worried is will I be able to reschedule the exam without paying for it?

Note: The Yankees just came back and beat the Angels in the 9th. Sweet!

To See or Not to See

Carla had Lasik surgery on Wednesday and now she has 20/20 vision again. I'm envious (yes, envy is a sin but I never said I was perfect) because I'm not old enough to participate in the study that Carla was in.

So, what can I say? How about PBBTH!

AC is down (again)

This is getting old real fast. Something had better be done about it quickly.

Take Your Vanity Plate and Shove It!

This ticks me off.

I must be un-"reasonable" because I find these vanity plates offensive. I don't want someone going around and preaching anything about gay rights. Why? Homosexuality is a sin. You either deal with that fact now or when you face judgement before God. In the meantime, keep your sinful thoughts and opinions to yourself.

Congratulations to Mohan & Michelle

Seeing that it is around 3:30 PM in London, I can officially congratulate Mohan & Michelle and wish the newlyweds the best of luck and many blessings as they spend their lives together.

However, to Mohan I have a message. You'd better take darn good care of my "little" sister or suffer the wrath of John! :D

...Keeps Getting Better

Natalie is home - yay!

I got the kit that allows me to use my XM satellite receiver in my house. Very cool. On days like today, I can leave work, put on the Yankee game, get home, pull the receiver out of the car, plug it in at home and continue to listen to them play. I love technology!

Good News...

Sunday was a great day! I am always encouraged when God glorifies himself through the wretched wrecks that humans are. I can die and I am confident I would go to heaven. It was great seeing Bill get baptized. I enjoyed studying God's word with him and teaching him the fundamentals that I believe everyone needs to know to have a great walk with God. It's just too bad that he will be leaving for his home in North Carolina in a couple of weeks but the brothers out there will be very fortunate to have a great man of God coming back to them.

Happy Birthday Nick

You are a punk and I want to beat you to a bloody pulp, but you are my brother and for that you are loved.

Happy Birthday!

James Doohan

One of the most beloved actors of the Sci-Fi genre is dead. "'Tis a sad day laddie" would be something Captain Montgomery Scott would say. To the actor and his legacy, I salute you and proudly offer to "beam you up!"

How Sweet It Is!

I may not get to say this again this year but the Yankees are in first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's go Yankees!
Let's go Yankees!

I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight.

Movie Review

I made good use of my free time on Saturday and went to a matinee showing of War of the Worlds (I'm still boycotting the full $9.25 price for a movie). And unlike some of you, I paid for my own ticket to go and surprisingly, it was worth it. The stupid eye still scares the crap out of me (although I miss the red, green and blue colored eye from the original), Tim Robbins did a great job playing the crazy guy and it was nice to see the wonderful city of Boston get the crap kicked out of it (yes, New York got beat-up too but it wasn't limited to just there).

So, the big question is, will it end up part of my DVD collection? No. Just like I don't own Signs because it messed with my mind, I can't own this one because I'll be afraid that stupid eye will be waiting for me to wake up and scream (which is exactly what I would do). Just thinking about it gives me the creeps and chills.

Is it worth a matinee price? Yes. A dollar movie? Absolutely.

One other thing, I agree with George, I miss the sound effects from the original movie too!

Roaches

What else would you expect in Texas?

Happy Birthday Natalie

Happy 24th birthday Natalie!

You are a wonderful person. Despite the fact that you tease me and call me dumb names (right Marvin?), I still love you dearly. Have a great birthday celebration. Make sure your friends and family in Georgia spoil you today, o.k.?

See you a week from Monday!

Rants and Raves

Sometimes my mother is pushy (o.k. - maybe she's pushy all the time). Yesterday she calls me with a phone number of a new realtor, because she doesn't feel my current realtor has been agressive enough for me (and I agree with her on that). So today she calls to tell me about a house she also told me about yesterday. Why? My guess is so she can still control my life and I hate it. I hate it with a passion. It's so bad that I dread the day I get engaged because I know the wedding wont be mine, it will be my mother's.

Sigh! What is a guy supposed to do?

Poor Natalie, update, etc.

Natalie is supposed to be home by now (she has a job interview tomorrow) but guess what happened as she tried to fly from Atlanta? You guessed right, Hurricane Dennis hit ground and promptly wiped out her trip. She's supposed to leave today and arrive this afternoon unless Dennis decides he wants another shot at the ATL.

On the good news front, both of my friends in London are fine. Kricket wrote the day of the bombing to say that she walks to work everyday (yea!) and Michelle is 50 miles away (yea!). Good news all around.

It is time for the MLB All-Star game. I wont get to watch it live (again) but I will try to tape it. Personally, I cheer for the American League (being a Yankees fan I have to) and this year is no different. However, I will not cheer for the A.L. when/if Kenny Rogers enters the game to pitch. If you don't know what is going on, Google him and make sure you watch the video of his attack on some innocent cameramen.

Lastly, I'm studying for the MCDST exam and using MeasureUp for practice exams. Not bad, so far, but I am finding errors in the 70-272 exam questions, which may prompt me to request a refund. We shall see how that proceeds.

Toodles for now!

United Church of Christ O.K.'s Gay Marriage

It's time I speak out about this. Those who are members of the UCC will probably be condemned and they will hate me for this (to those of you I know that are members of a UCC church, my apologies for telling you the truth).

Here's what the bible says about homosexuality:
Leviticus 18:22
" `Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable
Leviticus 20:13
" `If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Romans 1:26
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

As you can read, God doesn't approve of homosexuality. I believe what the bible teaches to be the true word of God. You can debate my opinion all you want (and I've only expressed two in this post) but you cannot debate the word of God.

Holiday Weekend

Fourth of July weekend is upon us. I'm glad. I need the sleep. What do you have planned for the weekend? Me? I'll be doing my usual thing plus I get to watch the Yankees play on Monday and I'll be working on the church web page . I plan on being as lazy as I can this weekend and sleeping as much as I can. After all, my next day off is Labor day!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Note: It is also Lisadiana's birthday today! Happy Birthday Lisadiana!
