What is wrong with the world?
If you have a suspicion that you are going to kill yourself in a high speed chase because of domestic violence, why would you bring a child along with you?

Based on my experience he either a) wasn't thinking straight or b) had prevented the mother of the child from leaving (after the child was strapped safely into the car seat), got scared and took off in the car. Personally I vote (b), but I'm sure (a) comes into play also. c
