4 Month Warning

I'm starting to realize that the best thing I can get this year is money or money substitutes (i.e. gift cards).

If you buy them now, you can buy some more before my birthday gets here! :)

Ranting

Why do expenses tend to bunch together?

In the past month I have spent over $600 on my car fixing various issues that have arisen. I have also had to buy furniture and paint for the house plus I have some waterproofing that I need to do on some wood siding I have on my house.

Sigh!

Debts keep mounting and income remains flat. That is the story of the American Way.

Swing Vote Trailer Online

Remember this?

I do. I had to park in a gated lot that was way too small for all the cars that were in it for a couple of days while shooting was going on at the station. The good news is the film has been made and will be released August 1st. If you want a glimpse of what the inside of some of our station looks like, I suggest you watch the movie (no, I'm not in it. I did not want to stay awake until midnight every night while they were filming just to be an extra). But, if you go and watch the movie, you will help give our station a good name and we might get some extra revenue once in a while from film crews wanting to use our station and that is worth having to park elsewhere for a day or two.

An Oxymoron?

Am I the only one who sees something wrong here?

Top U.S. High Schools

Newsweek has their annual top U.S. High Schools list published and, to no one's surprise, no high school in Albuquerque (and the public school system) is listed. Is this what $1B/ year gets us? When will the culture in this state change and we start hiring the right people for the job instead of the person we know or are related to? In case you didn't know, APS is facing a $20M shortfall for this year because of accounting errors dating back as far as 1991.

Nice.

That was when I was in high school. No wonder I was unprepared for college...

My vote is quickly being influence towards the de-certifying APS as our school district. What about yours?

I realized that one year ago today I returned to work. I remember thinking that I wouldn't want to take extended vacation during the year because I had used up all my time getting well and I remember thinking a year is a long time.

Yet, here I am a year later, feeling pretty good (except for yesterday's stomach bug) and looking forward to the next major milestone in life - marriage.
